Colin HardyTreasurerColin began playing at Highfield School before moving to the Gomersal Band.
During this time he became a member of the National Youth Band of Great Britain,
which he played with for 5 years. During which time he played both Principle
Baritone and Principal Trombone. He has played with several Championship Bands, Crossley Carpets Band, Brighouse and Rastrick followed by 12 years with Black Dyke Mills Band, with whom he has won 4 National Championships, 4 British Open Championships including one hat-trick and one double. He has toured the USA, Canada Switzerland, Holland and France. He was also a member of the Virtuoso Band. In 1983 Colin became conductor of the Drighlington Band, with who, during his 10 year stay, were promoted from the Fourth Section to the Championship Section. For nearly 30 years, Colin has worked in the music industry selling musical instruments to brass bands. He recently retired from his own business, which we all know, Band Supplies of Leeds. His most recent pride and joy was being a member of the now famous ‘Kings of Brass’. Colin now concentrates on freelance conducting and adjudicating. He is listed on the official adjudicators list and is a member of the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators. |
